Bleu note sounds like a really good spot- whats the crowd like that goes there, is it real relaxed? i lived well out of town so would want it to be worth the trip in!

Yes - its good and relexed. Saw Nigel Mooney there a few weeks ago on a Wednesday - great sound, fully recommend catching him if he's still playing there.

Bewleys Cafe Theatre has loads of jazz gigs, keep an eye on www.bewleyscafetheatre.com. We have Honor Heffernan this saturday 19th april with Phil Ware on piano, damian evans on d.bass and kevin brady on drums. Next Saturday the 26th we have Emilie Conway singing a tribute to Billie Holliday. And we have what most other venues dont have - a regularly tuned decent piano, and an ambience and acoustics that actually feels and sounds like a jazz venue!

Jazz Jam Sessions taking place on Monday nights at Le Basement, 32 Dame Lane (opposite Stag's Head). Doors 8.30, Cover charge E5 for all.
The Jazz Jam Sessions are for musicians and music lovers. Open to all swing and jazz, soul and funk performers, the evening promises to be full of talent and surprises as vocalists and musicians come together to meet, to network, to exchange ideas, to learn from each other, to do business together and to play some really good music.
Our PA system is at your disposal. Our in house sound engineer will be on hand to assist you and I will be there to look after you.
To ensure your place in the night's line up of performers, register your interest in attending with me as early as possible before the night.
Bring your instruments, sheet music, charts and passion with you.
Le Basement is beneath Le Cirk, Dublin's new burlesque themed bar. It is only accessible from Dame Lane.
    Email jazzjamsessions@gmail.com
    Looking forward to meeting you....

There's always a good session in The Corner House in the city, every Thursday I think, with members of the Lee Delta Blues Club.
Muddy Mahers in Kinsale is a good place to catch decent blues if you're dpwn there.

So that place that was called the bleu note on capel street is on now called at the living room, is it still any good? whats the general vibe in the place, some jazz gigs tend to have too many people up their own ass, looking for somewhere nice an relaxed maybe friday or saturday night?

Hi, my name is Patrick Wall and am a blues/oldtime country singer, I am interested in any opportunities with regard to playing in blues sessions, gigs or forming a band that can play the songs of Moon Mullican, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Monroe, Jimmie Rodgers, Hank Williams and similar.

Also, someone who can give me and/or my band some gigs or sessions. Good rates are given by me for solo un-miked sessions where I sing and play guitar and welcome other singers and musicians to join in as well. Any help is much appreciated. Below are my music sites:
