I love sweeping generalisations so I whole-heartedly support him.

    BUT ITS TRUE - mostly.

They are car mad up there and add in the headers from Derry who use the dual carraigeway as a race track, you have some serious fun and games.

There is an element of truth in that. The boys racers are complete gob****es.

All this complaining about bad roads, yet (take the back roads out of the equation) the roads are no worse than other areas of the country, road to Sligo - Derry is sound. That complaint is often a cop out

Why do the cops do damn all. The boy racers blantly meet up on Sunday night without any pretence and speed around the LetterKenny to Derry Road

This coming from a man who drunk drived home after filming the late late and goes on TV shows with out wearing seat belts.

What an ambassador for road safety.

    Good man Gay..

It's not really a myth. Most dealerships wont touch a DL reg car for a trade in because the roads are in bits and the cars have been driven hard. Just ask one!

    Anyone remember this TV ad??:D:D

The N15 is a fine road now, but it needs speed enforcement.

My mum got wiped out on the brow of a hill, on a continuous white line by a boy racer overtaking. He never noticed a car full of aul ones coming home from bingo turning right.

Idiot was driving on his dads company insurance, and had crashed before.

The only words that come to mind nowadays when I hear anything this way-past-his-sell-by-date creep says are: "ga-ga".:rolleyes::):)

Stereotyped tarred with same brush nonsense.

Obviously Gay has never been in a car with a Nigerian woman driving :)

It's only a few months ago when he was hoping to be president  he told us Europe was being run by mad men.
Now he tells us Donegal people drive like lunatics.
Hopefully for the future he will focus his attention on the menatal state of the Howth area on which he should be most qualified to comment on.

Howth Village up over Howth Head, then down to Sutton Cross and than back out to Howth Village would make for one hell of a great car rally stage and a Mini TT motorbike road race course.;):D:D

If Don Draper was one of the guys running Europe i would pay a little more attention to EU politics. Joan would have to take Merkels place though.

Anyway, yes, back to matter at hand, Lunatic drivers.

This wouldn't be the first time he has ranted about Donegal people.

He has also said that young men are a "disease".

He is a bitter, bigoted, insufferable cúnt and the sooner he's dead and buried the better.

Gay Bryne doesnt need to wear a seatbelt though.

    He is the "chosen one"....................

But he's right, Donegal has the dubious distinction of having some of the worst road accidents in the country. Plus a higher rate than the national average. That's also true of the other two Ulster counties and probably other six Northern counties too if truth be told.

Northern drivers all well known for being crazy drivers, which might explain why so many good racing and rally drivers come from that province.

could have phrased it better, but the thoughts in the right place imo :P

    Of course !!

It is illegal to sell second hand reg plates ;)

Never buy a second hand D reg, its more than likely been driven by a dub/woman/black/offaly person/politician/insertrandomgeneralisationhere

Not to the extent compared to Donegal. That is the one of the most dangerous county for road traffic fatalities.

It still does not take away the accuracy of what Byrne said

In what context did he say that young men, and I assume you are saying young Donegal men (if one assumes that that sentence an example of your the first statement)

Whatever about what he is, he still made a fair point about drivers in Donegal
