The best are Squeezbox and Sonos.

    Squeezbox options are here

    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/wireless-music-systems

Sonos options are here ( they do em in Arnotts as well if you want to have a look)

    http://www.sonos.com/shop/products/play5#video

The airport express unit linked to above will do it , Ive got one of those , but streaming music is not its main function , rather internet access while travelling is , its streaming capabilities are basic at best and like all apple products its not cheap , its going to cost you about 90 euros.

For not much more , you can get a squeezbox unit.

All of the above units can be controlled via apps from ipad or iphone.

Squeezbox currently stands out as it does high resolution audio , 24bit/96khz , Sonos does not , it tops out at basic redbook CD spec , 16bit 44Khz.

this seems to be where i might find an answer...

i'm looking for a unit, like the airport express or the logitech bluetooth adapter (http://www.logitech.com/en-us/speakers-audio/home-pc-speakers/devices/8087), that'd allow me to stream music via wifi off the ladyfriend's iphone and my htc android into the back of a stereo.

    anyone any ideas?!?!

an a/v receiver that has airplay feature is a solution but if you wanted to intagrate it into a multiroom audio system maybe sonos or russound DMS 3.1 is something you could look at as they have airplay feature also now.
