    London 1-20 Kildare 2-17

Kildare goal from Mark Moloney to level it in injury time. Extra time to be played.

Finished 2-23 apiece AET. Will the replay be in Newbridge next week with club championship on as well?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

It'll probably be on before the Castledermot v Raheens and Athy v Sarsfields double header which doesn't throw in until 5:15.

There's no game in Clane on Saturday so could possibly play it there.

    Offaly 0-13 Kildare 0-14

Decent result against a dogged young Offaly team. Rory Feely was red carded near the end. Huge row at the final whistle involving players, management and spectators. Expect to hear more about that, some player's parents also involved.

Kildare play Laois in the quarters after they beat Wicklow tonight.

It would make you wonder how the management got the team selection so wrong for the Louth match. That was a strong Offaly team who had ran the Dubs close and really fancied themselves to get the win tonight.

I don't think we have heard the last about this fixture after the melee at the end. The fallout will not be pleasant and rightly so. That sort of nonsense has no place in our games.

    Half time:

    Kildare 0-9 London 2-8

Kildare are going to need a big impact off the bench again this weekend.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Kildare down by 6 points and now reduced to 14 men.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Kildare 0-19 London 3-16

Kildare not out of it but we'll have to do things the hard way again this year. Away to Mayo next weekend.

Well sarsfields were hammered by athy tonight I think by 10 or 11 points. Never seen them playing so badly. But in fairness athy looked fast and played 14 men behind the ball at one stage. I'd fancy them to do well this year.

When's the draw for the second round?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,088 ✭✭✭Nib

I'd say it won't be made until Kildare are knocked out of the championship.

Pity about the weather for the club championship, not nice conditions to play in or watch. Fair play to Eadestown for running Moorefield close, I feared for them when the draw was made. Not many upsets around, Athy hammering Sarsfields is a huge surprise though.

    What sanctions have Offaly received?

They will also surrender home advantage in future matches.

It's ridiculous that Kildare and Offaly teams in future years will suffer for the indiscretions of their 2015 minor teams. The 2016 and 2017 teams will be made up of completely different players and they will be at a disadvantage over incidents they had nothing to do with.

By all means ban more players (and a number of adults) for their part in last week's ugly scenes. Forcing teams to play away from home is tokenism at its best. The same thing has happened Moorefield recently who received a similar ban after their brawl against Dromard in 2007. They had to give up home advantage in the Leinster Club Championship in 2013 and 2014 despite having a completely different team all these years later.

Is Hyland eligible again next year? Looks a great prospect.

    He's 18 on January 2nd, 2016.

I think that makes him under age by a day?

Hurlers are on their way out of the Christy Ring Cup by the looks of things. Hard to know how things have gone so wrong in the space of a few weeks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Goal for Willie Greene. Gap back to 4 points.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Second Willie Greene goal. Level game!
