Oak Park at 14C on the 12pm report, looking like my 15.5C guess might be on the low side if tomorrow is going to be even warmer.

Edit: 15.0C in Ashford which I assume is Mothmans station

A few stations in the Dublin area above 15C including Trogdor's but don't think any count towards the contest

My station doesn't count towards this contest, but...
    16.0C confirmed!!
Highest temp in Feb and 3rd highest "winter" (Dec-Feb) temp in my 13 year record.

Oak Park now showing 15C on the ME latest reports.

15.3C the max in Cork so far today

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 25,234 ✭✭✭✭Sponge Bob

Oak Park showing 15c at 3pm and recent drizzle so we know it made 14.6c at least for competition purposes.

You are at the 'Foehn End' of a SW airflow from there Mothman.

    14.3c in Sligo today.

Our warmest day so far 2012.

There was drizzle in the morning but some short sunny spells in afternoon.

If Munster and Leinster get sun tomorrow theyll easily get 16.

Sht I only thought 15.1c but I put 17.5c in the Winter competiton so Consensus look out im right behind you.

14.6C in Sandyford - no idea if that's anywhere near a record.

No where near a record. UK feb record is 19.7, dont know the Irish record (Edit:18.3 according to M.T) but Feb 98 was very mild with 17.3 record in Phoenix Park on 15th.

Anyway 14.7 in Oak park yesterday was met.ie max, should be beaten today.

Me thinks the temperature might struggle past 15 today imo. Fog and mist very slow to clear around most of the country. Sun might not peek through until late afternoon in many places. Might be too late by then. Crossing my fingers personally :D

Lost the sunshine , but 17.4C confirmed from screen reading. AWS max 17.2C

Still time to exceed this if sunshine returns.

    AWS 16.4C at moment

1998 had 17.3C at Phoenix Park and 17.8C at a place in Northern Ireland.

  • Registered Users Posts: 921 ✭✭✭MiNdGaM3

Warming up a little in Cork. Clouds thinning and the sun making increasingly frequent appearances. Currently 14.8C, which is the max so far today.

Plenty of stations above 17C in England.

As always its dark, grey and drizzly here, 12C but feeling a lot colder with the strong wind and drizzle

No met station above 14C yet

Ogimet has Oak Park's max at 14.8c today with 14.3c at Finner and Casement.

No more sunshine, so 17.4C is the max.
This is 2C above my previous max for Feb. 13 years of records.

Only 1.2hours sun. At the time sunshine looked set for hours and if so 18C would have been exceeded, but cloud came quickly.

Max in Britain 18.7C at Coleshill

For competition purposes here, I suspect Moorepark may have exceeded the 14.8C, perhaps a degree higher.
Data available about midday tomorrow on Met.ie

Despite lots of sunshine till early afternoon Sandyford topped out at 15.1C.

It must be the elevation?

    <fix in>

Lest the official result be 15.1c for Thursday ( ie the likely winner) I did hint I would promise to try to influence MT to declare Darwin an outright winner over Pauldry ....level on temps but Darwin read the instructions. :)

thought it was from the stations on the table here

I will take 15.5 though as its closer to my guess . :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,836 ✭✭✭pauldry

ill take 15.5c too as i wouldnt have won coz i didnt read the instructions

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,280 ✭✭✭✭M.T. Cranium

Well, congrats to Cionád and harps who were right on the money with 15.5 C.

That would be barring anything warmer tomorrow, but just for fun, we will consider the contest open for a replay on current guesses, max Sunday to Wednesday 29th. So a second winner may be announced if it gets warmer than 15.5 C anywhere that qualifies.

Will be opening the March contest later this evening.

    Awesome

And on the same week that I got a "Post of the day" :pac:

Nice one, just seeing this now! Didn't think I had much of a chance after Wednesday nearly reached 15C but for once the lack of sunshine on Thursday was a positive.

Looking at the latest HIRLAM its showing 13C for Monday so an outside chance somewhere will top this weeks max

Thanks to MT and Sponge Bob for the comp!

Tuesday and Wednesday are likely to be very mild, so if it's sunny we could see 15/16C again this week.
