Is there an old house like that in Ballymore outside Camolin?

If it's the house that I think it is, it's near Oulart but I need somebody to confirm as I can't get out there myself. :)

Yeah, pretty bad out there tonight. Tried to get to Clonroche from Wexford an hour ago but the Slaney has come over the road just beyond the Heritage Park. Then tried to get there via Adamstown after going down the N25. Huge tree straight across the road just after you turn for Adamstown. Gave up and turned for home and another tree down on the top of Forth Mountain but there is a gap cut through it.

If the house in your photograph is near Oulart, it's unlikely to be Ballymore which is on the eastern side of Camolin. More checking needed, I think.

    Hello,
I am looking for old photos of the Brandon House Hotel (formerly Five Counties Hotel).
I have looked at a number of places but I have not been successful so far.
I am wondering if someone here would have old photos where the exterior of the building can been.
    Thanks in advance.

Nope. Heres one from a different spot, this is standing on the cliff in the other shot, should be more recognisable.

That's an old shot of Kelly's Hotel in Rosslare

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Thanks for that. On the old postcard image that I have it is called "The Rosslare Hotel", Rosslare Strand - originally built in 1895. Changed a bit - I just had a quick look at Kelly's website.

Found this sad postcard reminder of the Guillemot online today. I remember being on the ship back in the early 1970s when she was moored in Wexford harbour, and nearly breaking my neck on the stairs as I tried to go down them facing forwards! :D

Here's an interesting picture of Ferrycarrig before the new bridge was built and the N11 was bulldozed through the hillside.

I have just listed this postcard for sale here: http://www.adverts.ie/postcards/aerial-postcard-ferrycarrig-county-wexford/11601842
