Just what are you paying for in a laptop?

Hi everyone. Just got a new laptop, an ASUS K52f-ex962v. Specs here

    http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/Asus_K52F-EX962V_CI3-330M________________K52F-EX962V/version.asp

Now I got it locally for 599 and for that price I feel it is decent value, with the global warranty etc on top of that. It's certainly fairly competitive with prices for the same machine online, sometimes better and sometimes worse. Having said that, like with so many of my purchases, it seems like all the deals only seem to jump out at me after I've made a choice. It's said that ASUS make very high quality machines, so is this what pushes up it's values like say, the sony Vaio which has a similarly specced model at a higher price again. Does that alleged reliability make it desirable over a cheaper and maybe better specced Dell or Acer? I suppose I'm suffering a case of buyer's insecurity and wonder if I took a bad deal. It's a very good laptop though it's just I always wonder if I could've had the same for less or more for the same.

I would stop worrying and just enjoy your laptop!
As you said, Asus have a good rep and it does everything you want.
Theres no such thing as a "perfect" laptop with every feature under the sun, and certainly not for 600!
Just think I paid £1200 only five years ago, for a much lesser spec.
As regards for prices for PC's and laptops, we've "never had it so good"
So enjoy, and stop worrying about the lack of a blueray drive that you will never use etc
