difference between quoted and unquoted shares?

Just filling in my CG1 - bought and sold Irish bankshares last year, but I don't know if they're quoted or unquoted? No idea what that means.... Can anyone help?

If the company's shares can be bought or sold on the stock market they are quoted. Also, the quoted company will be called X plc, where plc means public limited company.
