Ah cocknose! I remember seeing footage of him somewhere.

I'd like to nominate Worsel Gummage and his missus. I couldn't watch that show. It was just so fúcking (unintentionally?)creepy.

As a toddler the Morbegs apparently terrified me to my soul.

In retrospect I must have been a very mentally fragile toddler.

I vaguely remember re-runs of this on the Den during the mid 90s and I too found it decidedly creepy...

This still freaks me out, and my mates in college used to change my background on my computer to a picture of him, and hide pictures of him in random places in my room, it was terrifying!! Come on, in order to stop reading and to start singing HE HAD TO TAKE OFF HIS HEAD!!!! That's just not right!

Worzel was creepy alright, remember one episode that terrified me for ages. There was an evil scarecrow that the crow man "couldn't finish because he was too evil". He had no eyes, kept thinking about it for ages afterwards!

The Gods of Olympus in Ulysses 31 were frightening with their booming voices and threats.

Also, Slightly Bonkers always freaked me out.

I seem to remember an episode where the farmer (or someone, can't remember exactly) wanted to burn Worzel on a bonfire, I can't quite remember how it worked out but I think they did burn him and he just resurrected or something. Or maybe they swapped him with another scarecrow. Either way my seven year old self found the concept of the lead character being burned alive quite disturbing...

I remember that and I enjoyed it. Used to have a blue whirling thing in the top corner of his bedroom talking to him. I read the book a few years ago and it's by the same chap who wrote The Day of the Triffids. I don't think it was supposed to be a story for children at all.

Any of Zeldas family from Terrahawks, used to scare me anyway.

Fenella from Chorlton and the Wheelies.

Some of the characters on Riminey Riddle used to freak me out. Especially the doll that came to life...Otto...

Alf constantly trying to catch and eat the family cat
How did that ever get approved for a children's show?

A boy carrying around a head
He even looks like one of those tribes where they behead enemies and keep heads as trophies

Such a catchy theme song though :D
