Waldorf barbers is amazing. It is €18 per dry cut though.

Anything above a tenner for a cut is a joke.

Try Dillons on Wellington Quay. A fiver for a good cut.

i think the same.. this waldorf barbers looks like a great place from their website but 18 euro for a short back and sides seems a bit much and then your probly expected to tip on top of that especially as its christmas time. so you could be payin 20-25 euro. you can go to argos and buy a razor for that price and it will last you years :)

having said that im gonna go town in morning and ill pop into them and see what the place is like and might get a cut there.ill wait and see

    called into waldorf barbers yeaterday

they want 32 euro to shave your head with a straight razor.. i cant justify paying this money for a haircut so i left and went to some place just beside the hapenny bridge, the guy charged me 15 euro but he didnt use any shaving cream and the job wasnt great over all.. so now i still need to find a new place for next week :(

why is it so hard to find a decent barber!!!

I was in there yesterday myself. There was a queue of about 12 lads so I left and ended up in the Trinity Barbers. Very good.

Wash and cut for 20 (26 in Waldorf)

Its more of an in and out type of place though, but probably cause its Chrstmas.

Walfdorf normally spend about 30-40 minutes doing your hair, and I dont have a lot of it :)

I used Grafton barbers once at the top of grafton street, i think they have a few around the city. Got a shave and was really good value. Was offered a drink while i waited and and on the way out i got some face wash samples and a cigar ;). Cant get better than that plus the female staff are good looking as well :).

    Amen.

What's even funnier is people that say "oh i prefer to pay a bit more for a better cut" haha...paying more doesnt get some pair of magical hands to your head.

Haha, sooo funny OMG magical hands FYI, AIB, LOL, etc... You get good service, you won't be waiting all day, you get a beer, a newspaper, a head massage, comfort while waiting and getting your hair cut, the lads and girls are very pleasant, good to chat to, but know if you don't feel like chatting. Each to their own, some people only get their hair cut once in a few months, it's their money.

Thanks to everyone else that suggested barbers though, I use Grafton barbers. Very good service.

I use to swear by trinity barbers, across from trinity college. Great spot and a great cut guaranteed, but for 20 euros...That was back in the celtic tiger days...

Now, after a stint of trying several different places all around the northern side of the liffey, the best place i've encountered is the barbers in phibsboro beside DesKellys (the old ice rink) 10Euro, sound guy that works on his own and never more then 1, max 2 in the queue. I'll go there until either he's not, or im not, there/here anymore.

Hopefully both of you will be around for a long time! A bit out of my way, but thanks for the tip.

very good barber shop , use to be owned by my boss

i do cuts for my friends etc for a tenner , what ever you want with a wet towel neck shave

just to point out, you pay for your barber not the cut, its the barber that cuts you not the "tools ":P:D anything above 15 for a cut is ridiculous
if you want a good cut ,dont go to any of those €5 places, ray charles could do a better job, or you can just go and get a shaver in argoos like what said above , for 20 bats and make a balls of it your self :P

i live in town if your around id cut you in my gaf

Merchants Barber in Temple Bar is the only place i go now.

It's about 20 euro for a wash and cut.

I dont mind paying that amount, I've had to go to other local barbers that are around the tenner mark before and there is a noticable difference in the cut.

The Basement Barbers in the GPO arcade is very good. €12 for a cut. It's downstairs beneath the hairdressers.

Cowboys and Angels apparently do a good gents cut on south william street. Starting at €55. Bargain.

the owner of this establishment needs to be shot if he is charging 55 euro for a gents cut

    seriously wtf

Wow, I thought you were taking the pish tenandtracer, but it's there on their website. Must have a look in the next day I pass, see how many fellas are in the place.

Anyway, I use Sams Barbers on the quays or the Merchant in Templebar. Yes I could get a fiver cut or a tenner cut, but I have longish, curlier hair and any time I've gone to the cheap places to save money, I usually end up having to go back to Sams or the Merchants to get it fixed. I don't know if the others I've tried don't know how to cut curly hair properly or just not arsed doing the admittedly bigger work for a fiver and are trying to put me off going back.

    Total joke

and for a business charging so much for its services the website sure does look like trash, they could take some of that huge profit margin and pay someone to not make the website look like soemthing from a cheesy 80s porno movie

I've tried a good few places over the years, from €10 euro places upwards but I've finally found somewhere that consistently gets it right: Morgan 4 Men on South William St. It's €18 including wash but I honestly don't mind paying that as I know I'll be happy with the end result and he knows what I like as well.

not quite in town but at the walkinstown roundabout upstairs across the roundabout from the kestrel is a damn good barber.

Not the cheapest at 15 but he is a proper time served barber not the six week course in blade numbers you get a lot of now

You get your hair washed for that, which was a surprise, first time since me mammy for me i think!!!!

Nice waiting room with tv and papers and bul****ting with the other waiting customers :)
