Finally after purchasing this baby in September last year(Bacchus) I have received it. I got a few other new bits as well.

The Bacchus is an 04G Studio model. Fcukin great guitar. Puts Fender to shame :D
The cab is closed back 2 x 10 by Mongotone
And there's the G Major too....

They're mighty nice, but I'm not pushed on fancy woods and elaobarate inlays. Ideally, I want to pay as little as possible for any instrument and the real beauty of Bacchus is that they're better than the price you pay for them :)

Might as well put this up too, Bacchus P ever so slightly pimped :D

    The latest arrival :D

    eggle12.jpg

Its not pink  - its salmon ;) 1992 and not one ding or dent - sweet. Missing a pin from one of the Sperzels on the low E, the tuner "button" on B is different and the neck humbucker mounting ring/frame had broken on one side. Otherwise like new!

Right, after a small cull this is what I currently have... (dodgy photos a plenty)

    Fender Highway One Jazz Bass

    espa0330qy9.th.jpg

Got this this afternoon. My first Fender, fairly happy with it. Had no interest in Fenders when I was younger, probably because I'd only ever played p-basses (still hate them), but the jazz bass, I likey. Was gonna go for a Mexican, but decided to just go for the Highway One as the sterling exchange rate is so good right now.

    Fame Baphomet 2005 Ltd Ed.

    spa0161zn2aa7.th.jpg

Has a different bridge to the normal ones, but the main differnce is the paint job really. Set me back €1000. Not overly happy with it. The action's a little off. Still a very nice sound out of it, need to get it proffesionaly set up really.

Play them through a 500w 2x10 Ashdown ABM Combo

    spa0334wz7.th.jpg

Have an acoustic but it's not particularly interesting so I won't bother putting it up. Another bass too but that's for sale so no point in posting that either.

My SX strat was sitting around my room in pieces so I decided to do something with it that didn't involve spending any money...

Ended up looking not too bad. Wanted to sand the whole thing down but ended up getting very lazy and just doing the top, leaving the sides and back completely black which ended up looking cool (I think so anyway).

Went waaay too hard on bits of it sanding it down and there's some dodgy bits (around 30% of the visible surface actually...) but sure **** it... People spend thousands on signature models which have been artificially aged, this one at least has a story behind the dodgy bits :)

The scratchplate was a bit of an accident. Always liked the look of black scratchplates on natural finish guitars so tried to paint it but only had a black permanent marker... ended up looking a bit cack as you can imagine. A mate had a can of blue spray paint lying around which ended up being nearly finished so only trickles went flying out onto the scratchplate, BUT it ended up leaving a pretty cool finish. Have a clear laquer spray lying around I'll one day get around to spraying it with. Possibly laquer the body too but I don't know whether I'm arsed...

The guitar had been thrown around and had a good few dings and scratches in it so there's a few dodgy bits on the body but, hey, I like it and that's all that counts :)

    S6301203.jpg
    S6301205.jpg

Still got the stock pickups (although coloured in a little bit) but doesn't sound too bad at all. Stays in tune too which is always a plus :D

    Calling it the Cackocaster.

Thanks for that. I've just removed the neck, pickguard and bridge from my guitar. Thing is the neck and bridge pickups are kinda hanging in there. Can't really be removed unless I cut the wires connecting them.

I assume they need to be removed before sanding begins? Here's a current pic:

    Picture.jpg

This is the first time I've tinkered with a guitar so it's all new to me!

  • Registered Users Posts: 907 ✭✭✭Den_M

Ok, so I just snipped the wires where they connected to the pickups and input jack and removed all the electronics, I assume this was alright? I'm gonna put some new pickups in once its finished anyway. Started removing the finish but only got this far before my hand cramped up as I have to use sandpaper...

    Picture2.jpg

What would make a good replacement for a Tele copy neck and bridge combination? I assume only a certain kind can fit in the neck position of a Telecaster?

Slightly old pic, since then I've gotten another PRS Santana SE, exactly the same but with a hardtail bridge. I've also gotten a Collings OM2H which is phenomenal!! I'll get a pic up later. Also missing from the picture are a Cort GB24 Bass and a Fender Precision Bass....What do we think of that collective?? :D

Just bought a Schecter C-1 Hellraiser from Boards.ie's own Deadskin.
That Edwards he posted above must have been the reason for selling! ;)
Delighted with the Schecter - looks great, feels great, sounds great.

Won this beauty on ebay today - another 92 Eggle Berlin Pro - I just couldn't help myself - I've been GASing over it all week. I love my 92 "Salmon" (ok its actually known as Pink Glow) Berlin Pro, but man the sun burst just gets me :D. The typical Berlin Pro "in my mind" was always a sun burst (think this was known as cherry burst in the day). With a bit of luck I'll have it by Wednesday and please [deity] it arrives in one piece.
