Hi can anybody help me. I purchased Hannspree ST series 55" Full HD 1080p LCD TV 100Hz, MPEG4 & MHEG5 yesterday.I set it up but channels wont come on for me. There on the epg ok. Message comes up as Video type not supported. Radio channels come in fine. Do I need to update Tv or is this model not suited for dtt.

Did you install it with Ireland as the country setting?

Would changing the area/region setting make any difference?

Try changing to a different area, but by the sounds of it (as per the sticky reference) your TV doesn't support MPEG4 for Irish DTT :-(

Maybe try France or Norway as the country (both use MPEG-4).

If you have no joy then go back to DID.

I bought the ST321MNB for relatives it works fine but is NOT a great TV (poor picture / sound tweaking options / goes very misty on a narrow viewing angle) and i wouldnt buy another of the brand - but it does the job for Saorview OK

The models with MBB in the title have NOT got an MPEG4 tuner but the ones with MNB in the model number do have MPEG4
Personally on seeing their products first hand I wouldn't recommend the brand

Yep - the ST series is not compliant at all - MIL was burnt there - got an exchange for an SJ series 5 months later.

Beware though - the MHEG5 support on the hannspree SJ series is dogdey... doesn't seem to work at all even if set to UK.

AOC brand DID sell claim MHEG5 functionality but it's not the case.

Customers should ask for demonstrations of Saorview compatibility, ridiculous if they cannot organise a single aerial feed into their stores for that purpose.

According to AOC, they're working on a firmware update.
