Question regarding 25+ points for HL maths.

So, regarding the new scheme that awards those who sit a HL maths paper and get a D3 or higher, 25 extra points - what does this mean for minimum points requirements for courses?

Are they going to be rising considerably all across the board? If so, it makes the idea a bit pointless imo and especially hard on those that are doing OL.

According to my guidance councellor, he says points for courses that require hl maths (eg computer science) will go up by at least 25 points and whatever the demand is. Courses like arts or business that dont require hl maths wont be affected by the maths otherwise there would be no point to the extra points

The idea of the bonus scheme is to get more students staying at HL. OL students might be at a disadvantage in some courses, but then if they do get in they might find the maths in these courses a bit hard to follow if they didn't do HL for the Leaving.
