There was a dig in finglas about 7 years ago, down near the old bridge at the cross roads near the river road.

Anyone what they found or how would one go about finding out?

There was a dig near the church at the bottom of the hill... a Viking/Hiberno-Norse burial was excavated. Female with tortoise style brooches found among the grave goods, indicating high status.

Search through Archaeology Ireland back issues for the full details. I can't remember the whole story, sorry...

They found the remains of a viking woman, she still had some clothing on made of twead, she wore a very expensive brooch for its time, she may have been irish married to a viking king.
